interpupillary distance PD

Distance between the centres of the pupils when the eyes are fixating an object at an infinite distance in the straight-ahead position. Horizontal distance between the pupil centers of the two eyes in the zero gaze direction. The PD (also monocularly on right/left) is incorporated in the computation and production of individualized progressive lenses in order to ensure optimum usability of the visual ranges for the wearer.
