Binocular indirect ophthalmoscope
An ophthalmoscope which provides an illuminating system and which is used with a condensing lens in order to direct appropriately focused light into the patient's eye. Such instruments also provide a viewing system which allows the observer to examine thepatient´s retina by binocularly viewing the real intermediate image produced by the condensing lens. NOTE: Such instruments may include corrective lenses or eyepieces to aid focusing of this image which is viewed by the observer.
